The Boveda is a game changer for humidity control

The Boveda is a small sachet that acts as a reactive humidity control system. Inside the sachet is a mix of salt and water contained by a reverse osmosis membrane. The sachet works to control the humidity based on the scientifically proven fact that when certain salts are mixed with water they naturally regulate the humidity around them.

Humidity is an extremely important factor you need to think about when storing your stash. Too high a humidity level you get mold, too little and your bud will get dry. So instead of having to ‘burp’ your jar, to ensure fresh air and the right humidity, you just have to pop a Boveda in there. The sachet will keep it at the perfect humidity, meaning you wont need to burp the jar and your stash will keep for a much longer time. The sachet’s can also be used for curing, once again keeping the buds at he perfect humidity to develop the flavour and smell.

How do you use it?

Boveda’s are really easy to use. You just throw the appropriately sized Bodeva in the jar with you bud, and let them work there magic. That’s it! So then to decide which humidity sachet to use. They offer the 58% and the 62% humidity sachets, keeping the jar they are placed in at their respective humidity levels. A rule of thumb is the 58% humidity should be used during winter or on wetter and denser buds, while the 62% sachet should be used during the summer or on lighter, dryer and less dense bud.

For a guide for the minimum boveda needed for the amount of bud, they are nice enough to offer a useful chart:

Boveda 4 gram: 7-14 grams of medicine.
Boveda 8 gram: 14-28 grams of medicine.
Boveda 60 gram: 112-450 grams of medicine.
Boveda 320 gram: up to 5 pounds of medicine. (2267,96 grams, phew!)

However, the more Boveda’s you use in the jar the more effective they will be!
