Let’s take a look!

Let’s start out by saying that weed is a drug. Yes there are definitely worse drugs but that does not change the facts. Cannabis is a reality altering substance with potential for abuse and psychological dependence. But now let’s mention the fact that weed is one of the safest drugs out there, with limited harmful effects and endless benefits and medical applications, and no chemical that could cause physical addiction!

The best argument is that of Weed vs Alcohol. Yes it is mentioned constantly but there is a good reason for it. Weed has for years been painted as a dangerous drug that is sweeping through our children causing them to be captured by the reefer madness. Yet we’ll be subjected to ad after ad of people enjoying a beer in a calm and safe manner. Yet if you look at the data alcohol is a clearing more dangerous substance.

Lets look at the death toll. Alcohol claimed 3 millions lives in 2016 alone. What is weeds grand total? The undeniably persuasive number of 0. Furthermore alcohol is a cause of violence with 36% of hospitalized assaults been connected to Alcohol, along with a number of health issues like cancer, epilepsy, heart disease, and obesity.

Look I’m not trying to say that weed is perfect, it might be leaps better than alcohol, but it is still a drug. But life is difficult and stressful and i think that coming home from a hard day of work and lighting up a a joint and chilling out isn’t too bad. With the right regulation and control we can have a way better legal alternative to alcohol that is less harmful to our society and our bodies.
